OUR STORY

Better Than Ice Cream, Inc. (BTIC, Inc.) is first and foremost a family business.

 

Banker-turned-entrepreneur Nestor P. Bonoan discovered frozen yogurt in 1987 after a heart attack and a quadruple bypass surgery forced him to give up some personal food staples--ice cream, sweets, and fatty foods. "We were in the States and my daughters introduced me to frozen yogurt," recalls Nestor. "From that moment, we were all hooked."

 

In 1989, the Bonoans set up a small production plant in the family basement. In November of the same year, BTIC, Inc. opened its first retail store in Park Square Mall in Makati.

Today, Nestor is doing quite well and so is BTIC, Inc. BTIC products are now available in BTIC scooping stations in Metro Manila, and in groceries and supermarkets all over the country.

 

BTIC, Inc. products include the original Better Than Ice Cream hard-frozen yogurt line, yogurt popsicles, Greek and plain yogurt, yogurt cheese and dips. BTIC, Inc. also produces yogurt products for restaurants and other institutional clients. 

 

Although the company's production facility has moved out of the family's basement kitchen and into a real factory, BTIC remains to this day a family business and a shared family passion.
